FDE-Gym packages 95 end-to-end customer delivery tasks from 20 scenarios across 18 sectors, with scripted stakeholders and modifiable production-like systems. Deliveries are scored by normalized uplift on the customer's own success metric, penalized for messages, trial runs and waiting time. Across 13 configurations from seven providers, the best reaches a mean score of 0.56 and resolves 14/95 tasks; discovering unstated constraints is the main bottleneck, and even with all key facts obtained the best model clears 0.8 uplift on only 10 of 23 tasks.

Planet Labs and Airbus imagery analyzed by Reuters shows a field near Millerovo air base in Rostov turned into a ~0.9 km² drone launch site between August 31 and October 15, with eight planned launch platforms (two railed, two under construction). DroneSec estimates it could fire 100+ Geran-4/Geran-5 jet drones (up to 600 km/h) per day. Ukrainian data indicate Russian jet-drone use rose roughly sixfold over the summer; these drones outpace Ukraine's interceptor drones built for slower piston-powered models.

VPD (adVersarial Parameter Decomposition) decomposes a language model's parameters into subcomponents. Each implements a small part of the learned algorithm, and only a few are needed to explain behavior on any input. The decomposition is optimized to preserve input-output behavior even when many subcomponents are ablated, including ablations chosen adversarially to break behavior, which pushes toward mechanistically faithful pieces. The authors trace interactions between subcomponents to explain specific outputs, a parameter-space form of circuit analysis aimed at how weights compute on representations rather than at the representations alone.

On τ²-Bench it comes within one point of the strong model while roughly halving memory traffic and wall time; on AutomationBench and VitaBench it recovers 44–75% of the quality gap, and on MCP-Atlas edge-cloud it closes 53–75% with the strong model generating at most half the tokens.

PROBE frames agent auditing as a two-player Markov game in which a trained LLM auditor acts as a realistic user, probing deployed tool-using agents for violations of pricing, privacy, confirmation and safety policies that may only surface after several turns or tool calls. A composite reward balances violation discovery, behavioral plausibility, conversation progress and policy diversity; GRPO, DPO and GFlowNet objectives are compared. Trained auditors find broader, higher-yield violations than same-architecture zero-shot adversaries, even when much smaller than the target agent.

Evaluated on embodied crafting, robot navigation and deep research, MPT beats monolithic post-training, and learned self-orchestration outperforms alternative coordination schemes with the same action policies. Trained swarms adapt faster to related tasks, improve with larger inference-time populations and degrade less under agent dropout. Code and models are released.

A review of RL-driven diffusion models covering diffusion trajectory optimization and reward engineering for diffusion-based language, multimodal, robotic and scientific models, with benchmark experiments comparing representative RL post-training strategies. The authors identify three deployment bottlenecks: reward-design fragility, exploration-exploitation trade-offs in high-dimensional generation spaces, and instability under sparse rewards, and maintain a public tracking repository (Awesome-RL-for-Diffusion-Models).

Profiling three multi-agent frameworks shows routing and review consume 31.7–43.5% of generative-LLM tokens. Jev-LiteMAS replaces these with the lightweight Jev decision model: it picks the next expert dynamically from task and prior expert outputs (no pre-generated plan) and screens artifacts, sending only flagged ones to LLM re-review for corrective feedback. Across four benchmarks and two backbones it cuts generative tokens 12.7–54.6% versus LAS, stays within 1.34 points of accuracy, and lowers latency in seven of eight settings.

The Pragmatic Engineer reports that Ramp's Glass, an internal Lovable-style builder first put together by two engineers in a few weeks and now run by a four-person team, is used by nearly every non-engineer and is part of onboarding; one marketer built a 50+-field CRM on internal connectors. Stripe's Harbor, an AI-assisted prototyping tool, took one engineer about six weeks. Reasons cited: safe access to internal data, design-system compliance, no vendor reviews. Ramp has since released Glass externally. No formal adoption metrics are given.

A minimal three-player social-deduction game (two Carrots, one hidden Parsnip, three discussion rounds, private vote) is run across 10 models for ~$650 total (~$0.12 per game). Elo from 3,600 fully mixed games puts Claude Opus 5.5 top as Carrot (1760) and GPT-6 Sol top as Parsnip (1752); detection and deception skill rank differently. A four-parameter fit is stable across opponent splits (r=0.94–0.97), and ~300 games against a frozen anchor set rate a new model within 30–40 Elo. The author frames it as a capability, not propensity, eval.

Humans First, a conservative-led AI guardrails group chaired by Tea Party activist Amy Kremer, released a platform that calls for stronger export controls against China and other adversaries, mandatory independent testing of large AI companies, a prohibition on developing practices such as recursive self-improvement, public AI-incident reporting, liability for reckless frontier developers, strict rules for AI used by children, a ban on federal use of Flock cameras, and a pause on H-1B visas. Semafor notes the proposals go well beyond the administration's current light-touch approach.

The paper defines strategic identifiability and shows that observing a fixed policy pair can fail to identify a follower's reward regardless of sample count. It proposes an active IRL algorithm for two-player repeated Stackelberg games in which the leader adaptively chooses policies to elicit informative responses, combining maximum-likelihood estimation with experimental design. Finite-sample bounds on induced Stackelberg sub-optimality match a new minimax rate of K^-1/2 up to polylog factors, validated in an anti-poaching simulation.

Building on the J-lens readout, the authors build four orthogonal hidden-state directions (ambiguity, incompleteness, conflicting evidence, general uncertainty) spanning a "U-space", and combine alignment with them and mean next-token entropy over reasoning tokens into a U-lens score. Raw reasoning length is itself a strong error predictor, but on length-matched traces the U-lens still separates wrong answers across three reasoning models and four benchmarks, and generalizes out of domain better than many trained probes. It needs no labels or extra passes; code is open-sourced.

Comparing zkLLM proof times (Sun et al., 2024) with re-measured A100 inference over 2,048 tokens, the author finds proving costs 1,694–3,777x native compute for OPT-350M through Llama-2-13B, framing the gap that ZKP must close to compete with on-site auditing for international compute agreements. A key obstacle is hashing: trusted SHA-256/SHA-3 rely on bitwise ops that are costly in mod-p circuits, while ZK-native Poseidon is slow on the hardware tap; the proposed fix is SHA-3 on the tap with a translation layer. Other blockers: distributed proving, MoE routing, bit-exact floating point.

Handwired is an MIT-licensed TypeScript 'toy compiler' by ex-React core developer Cheng Lou. It lowers supported JavaScript into neural networks with compiler-assigned weights: both branches of a conditional are computed, and ReLU-built gates such as ReLU(a−4)−ReLU(a−5) select the result, so if/else and loops become matmul+ReLU that runs in plain JS or on WebGPU. Outputs are exact only over the stated integer domain. The compiled programs are differentiable and can be fine-tuned by unfreezing their weights. One demo, HandwiredOS, uses about 9,909 weights across 130 layers.

Responding to Nick Cammarata's Goodfire post, the author accepts that polysemanticity was overestimated but argues the evidence falls short of explaining neurons. A pattern fitting all activating examples may not be sufficient: neurons often fire only on a hard-to-describe subset of X, and forcing activation on all of X degrades the model, as seen in the auto-interp work. Activation magnitudes may also carry key information that labels miss. The conclusion is that interpretability is neither solved nor vastly easier than expected.

Support tickets are first triaged by an agent that reads GitHub issues, the codebase and Linear tickets before a human gets the request with context, and one click can dispatch another agent to apply a fix. He said staff now spend more time on what to build and on architecture, with human judgment and taste still central. No products or metrics were announced.

Across 66 training runs on PaSST, PANNs and BEATs with loss weights β∈[0,1], hierarchical conditioning matches multihead accuracy while changing optimization: multihead models solve scene classification first, whereas the hierarchical model learns both tasks in sync for β∈[0.6,0.9].
